Cool

It’s an Espers explosion! We’ve just booked 2 gigs on the same weekend on the same street! It’s Memorial Day Weekend, to be exact. We’ll follow up our moment of silence with the sweet serenades of all original tunes! This week we’re completing/recording the EP (for realz, finally) and rocking two live appearances. Life couldn’t get much better. Being too busy with our music is an excellent problem to have! I don’t think I could fit many more exclamation points before losing your respect, so I’ll just move on.

In addition to our show at TRiP on the 22nd, we’ll also be playing at The Air Conditioned Supper Club in Venice on the 24th! It’s going to be a busy weekend, but all of us are looking forward to getting out in the community and making our presence known before I move back to PA at the end of the month. Come out and support us! You can see all the details and grab the show flyers in our “Upcoming Shows” page here. As always, check the ‘space for further deets and tunes. We also just saw “Star Trek” and loved it, so “Live Long and Prosper!”

Hurt So Good

Tuesday was our show at the Good Hurt nightclub in Venice, CA and it was decidedly “off-da-chain”. We had a few technical difficulties, the least of which were catastrophic…but isn’t that what the first live show is all about? Yes. Yes, it is. Luckily, we all had an amazing learning experience and all of our friends were there to support us which was incredible. Thank you everyone for coming out to see us! We kicked some names and took some ass and I’m fairly certain that we offended almost everyone in attendance. All in all, a great success.

This week coming up is going to see another live show at TRIP on May 22nd at 8pm. A more reasonable time, to be sure, so please try to make it out and catch up with The Espers in their natural habitat. We’ll be even more worthwhile seeing at this show, after ironing out the kinks from last time. That’s saying a lot, seeing as how we’re already perfect >.> More details and a flyer for all of you soon when we have more deets. Stay tuned!

Final Countdown

It’s the first week of May and according to the Wolverine ads running on TV, summer has begun! This week also marks the last 7 days before our show at Good Hurt and we’re extremely excited to play for you! The three of us are putting our collective noses to the grindstone and spending late nights at the studio ringing each others’ necks to prepare for our first live performance. We’ll have our EP finished this coming weekend and more news about how you can get a hold on it. As always, you can check out our MySpace for some free tunes to listen to or check out our pics gallery to see what shenanigans we’re getting into.

In less exciting news, I’ll be leaving CA for PA in June due to personal reasons and The Espers may or may not continue on without me. While it’s extremely hard to leave and I’m saddened to leave the band, it is pushing us to create music with more drive and passion than ever before so, ultimately, the move is a positive occurance and you’ll get to reap the benefits once our EP is finished! We’ll keep updating you here on all of our goings-on in the meantime, so please make an effort to come out and see us while you can!

Dual Wielding

We’re busy this week working on our new material for the as-of-yet untitled EP. Andrew’s working double overtime, as you can see. We’ve been spending more late, caffeine-fueled nights preparing for our show next month and most of it has been productive. The parts that aren’t productive are filled with ridiculousness.

For instance, we spent an hour going through our set where I played the drum parts on the “musical typing” window in GarageBand. Our constant fits of cracking ourselves up may not translate to stage but at least we’ll be enjoying ourselves. Check out our new sections for more details on what’s coming up! As always, check us out on our MySpace for tunes!

Showtime

The place is always packed...

Well, the espers have landed our first show and it is literally a month away now….Just waiting for the guys to come by so we can write some new tunes for you, dear reader. Yes, FOR YOU! Info about the venue is here at: GOOD HURT NIGHTCLUB. We’re playing on 5.12.09 and, yes, it’s a Tuesday night. So what? Call off from work the next day and treat yourself. We go on at 12:30 am. The club is in Venice, CA and it will be $5 at door. We’ll be playing with Fergus, Center Cannot Hold, and the mysterious Hoodoo Brown!

Pass it on!

Click the banner for a larger version to pass on.

Technically it will be the 13th when we start our set, but who’s counting? We’re playing on Good Hurt’s Ambient/Experimental night so whichever way you look at it, it will surely be an interesting time. Make sure to harass the other bands to stick around. If you need help convincing anyone, the “naughty nurses” will still be there, so that’s got to motivate somebody. We’ll be putting on a show whether you’re there or not, but we’d love to see you! Come rock out with us!
